A new milestone for BYD is particularly uplifting. BYD electric buses sold to customers in the United States have travelled more than 13 million miles — all emission-free.
Southern California’s Long Beach Transit is adding a few more electric buses to its fleet with news of a new deal for 14 fully electric buses from Shenzhen, China-based BYD. The new buses will be manufactured at BYD’s Lancaster, California factory where it produces a range of electric buses and trucks.
BYD has announced yet another rollout of 20 of its fully electric shuttle buses in South Korea’s Jeju Island. The project was comprised of 20 of BYD’s 15 passenger eBus-7 vehicles that, a perfect fit for the island’s narrow roads while still packing plenty of range (200 kilometers of range per charge).
Carbridge, the onsite provider of airport ground transportation services for the Sydney Airport, announced that it has placed orders for 40 more pure electric buses from BYD. The contract was finalized at the end of January — just 3 months after the first BYD Electric Blu bus was first put to use at the Sydney Airport.
The China-based electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has secured a new contract to supply Argentina with 50 electric buses, following a bidding process launched there by the country’s Ministry of Environment. The company apparently beat out 5 other bidders to win the contract.
The city of Nottingham in England has added 13 brand new electric BYD buses to its previous fleet of 45 electric buses, and has converted 2 park-and-ride services to zero-emissions services, according to recent reports.
