Hot! Domino’s Pizza Partners With Rad Power Bikes For Pedal-Powered Pizza Delivery
After a successful ebike pilot that saw customers getting their Domino’s pizza even faster, the purveyors of pie locked in a nationwide partnership with Rad Power Bikes for pizza delivery.
The partnership was inked after a pilot program at Domino’s found that ebike deliveries were able to route their bundles of hot and gooey pizza goodness to customers even faster. Locations utilizing ebikes for delivery achieved not only faster delivery times, but better service scores than deliveries in a car. At stores already using traditional bicycles for deliveries, upgrading to an ebike saw an increase in team member satisfaction from the switch.
“Ebikes make a huge difference in my stores,” said Greg Keller, Seattle Domino’s franchisee. “While delivery on a traditional bike solved many of our traffic and parking issues, the hills in Seattle were tough on even our best cyclists. Ebikes were a game-changer for us. We have been able to save money, provide better service, increase hiring and maintain a happy workforce.”
Coming out of the pilot, Domino’s signed on with Rad Power Bikes’ Commercial Division as the exclusive ebike provider for all of its franchise locations as well as its corporate stores in the US. To ensure a great fit, Rad Power Bikes’ Commercial Division worked with Domino’s to assemble a solution based on Rad Power Bikes’ RadCity Step-Thru electric bike platform.
“We built a tailored delivery solution for Domino’s that is setting an exciting example for how ebikes can be used to benefit business efficiency and employee satisfaction,” said Brian Rinckenberger, Commercial Sales Director for Rad Power Bikes. “We’re proud that the partnership with Domino’s, which began with one franchise owner in Seattle several years ago, is now expanding nationwide.”
Each of the insulated soft-sided cargo areas on the bikes can hold up to 12 large pizzas along with all the necessary fixings to kick off a full-blown family-sized party. Because Rad Power Bikes’ RadCity already included an integrated headlight, brake light, and rack mounting points, minimal retrofits were needed to make it a scaleable solution for Domino’s to roll out.
Rad Power Bikes’ Commercial Division worked with Domino’s to find the perfect bike for pizza delivery and does so for numerous customers around the world working in logistics and delivery, government, corporate campuses, law enforcement, and more.
The first Rad Power Bikes from the new partnership will go out to Domino’s stores across the country later this year, so keep your eyes peeled for a pedal-powered pizza delivery in your area soon.
