Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory — Main Structure Now Being Completed (Video Update)
The latest aerial video from the Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory site, courtesy of Jason Yang, shows the main structure of the factory very close to completion. The remaining roof and wall patches on the north and south extremities look set to be completed this week, with largely weather/cosmetic finishing of some surfaces remaining. Focus is now shifting to work on the loading bays and the factory’s internals.
What appear to be the loading bay structures show some interesting features, apparently covering at least 3 floors of working height, with the appendages along the eastern side being at right angles to the building, whilst those along the western side are oriented at 45 degrees, as seen in these crops:

Jason has also shot some footage of several trucks carrying what appears to be large-scale machinery to be installed at the site:
We know that Tesla is aiming to commence pilot production at the gigafactory by September of this year, 4 months from now, and volume production before the end of the year. If you have an idea of what might be hiding under these blue tarps, please jump in the comments!
