Bucket list trip to Zagreb, Croatia — check. Thanks to Greyp, I was invited to the official launch of the G6 fully-connected electric mountain bike (e-bike) to experience and cover the bike for CleanTechnica. This is the company’s second high-end e-bike, following the wild GS12 I was fortunate to ride a while back. (As a side note, the GS12 is finally homologated!)
The Greyp G6 is a beautiful e-bike from design to ride. It sits in the $7,000 to 8,000 bracket and is a solid high-end entry-level bike you can take your time to upgrade — at your leisure if needed.
The Greyp G6 Feel & Ride
The Adriatic terrain is typical of what you find in the Mediterranean. From arid to harsh pounded ground to rocky, powdered, and dry flattened soil with occasional patches of grass and then back to white rocks. I was born in the Mediterranean and familiar with this landscape, so it was especially fun to go on an e-bike adventure here.
There was a choice of 3 tracks for the Greyp G6 test. The Chunky Monkey beginner trail (28.3 km / 17.5 miles), the expert Don’t Get Lost option (33.6 km / ~21 miles), and the one I took, Blaca — pronounced “blatcha” — stretching to 55.6 km (34.5 miles). Blaca brought us over the island to isolated beaches, spectacular panoramic views, quiet nooks, and flat-out off-road mountain bike paths along the way.
If you’ve ridden the GS12, don’t be fooled, the G6 feels nothing like it. It’s a full-suspension bike that can also be dialed and tweaked. We made good use of the seat raiser on these paths.
Before I go further, note that we originally wrote an article about the event here. But below is my experience of the G6 after many years of experience riding and owning e-bikes.
Greyp spent a lot of time on the G6. The bare frame is a sculpted work of art that I enjoyed watching with and without the battery. And speaking of battery, at 700 Wh/k, the Greyp G6 is by far the most energy dense battery pack on the market for an e-bike. A 36V/700Wh lithium-ion battery pack is a perfect way for other e-bike makers to see what Rimac is doing. This is a perfect showcase for the e-bike industry, much as the Concept_One is to the automotive industry.
I met Mate Rimac at the factory for a tour where we saw where the G6 is designed and assembled. The Concept_One is also there, as well as Rimac Automobili’s work with Pininfarina, Aston Martin, and a few other carmakers.
Designing this high-energy-density battery into the central part of the e-bike frame elongates the design of the Greyp G6. It’s also practical, as it can be easily removed.
I rode the G6.3 with updated brakes and its biggest battery. Saving energy, the bike handled all the terrain thrown at it with a cheerful disposition. The chassis felt poised and eager to take on anything without any obvious flex.
The connected aspect of the Greyp G6 makes for a more personal experience. It uses two built-in cameras — one is in the front, the other in the back. The front camera is integrated into the Central Intelligence Module (CIM) and the rear one hangs underneath the seat post. They can even record your ride.
A bracelet records heartbeats and more — you can see the details on the app on your phone. The Greyp G6 rides in almost any terrain. Updates are handled via OTA (over the air) software updates.

This is a wonderful beast. My biggest gripe (pardon the pun) is that we need another high-end e-bike like the Greyp G6. It shows what can be done, what can be adapted to what, and what market segments can be closed. In many ways, Rimac Automobili is the latest Pininfarina or Bertone — designers who sealed the automotive world of design. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Rimac Automobili make space airships in less than another century.
