Sunnova, one of the United States’ leading residential solar-plus-storage vendors, announced last week that it was adding solar modules manufactured by Panasonic Eco Solutions of North America to its list of approved vendors, opening the door for more choices and access for American consumers wishing to go solar.

Sunnova bills itself as “the leading, privately-held, residential solar + battery storage service provider” in the United States with over 65,000 customers across the country and its territories. The company has a variety of options built around residential solar and battery storage, and operates in 19 States and Territories.

Just last November, the company announced that it was expanding its offerings in Texas, making available its SunSafe solar-plus-batter storage offering available to homeowners in its home state.

“There are two things you should never bet against — adoption of technology and consumer choice — and in Texas we’re seeing that firsthand with the demand of residential solar plus storage,” said William J. (John) Berger, Chief Executive Officer of Sunnova Energy Corporation, in November. “Sunnova’s newly available solar plus battery storage offering provides Texan homeowners with an added layer of energy reliability and freedom that utilities can’t provide. Texas has been the epicenter for transformative energy technologies for years and, as such, it’s only fitting that homeowners across our Lone Star State will play a critical role in our mission to help power energy independence.”

It is unsurprising, therefore, that Sunnova and Panasonic Corporation of North America — the principal North American subsidiary of the Japan-based Panasonic Corporation — would work together to further expand the solar offerings available for Sunnova customers as the company seeks to further expand and deliver more solar.

Consumers served by Sunnova will now be able to purchase Panasonic Solar technology across the company’s various service offerings — including buying and leasing financing options, warranties, and expert maintenance — and benefit from both Sunnova’s existing full 25 year service protection as well as Panasonic’s own 25-year product and performance warranty on its HIT and HIT+ series modules.

“Cost is one of the greatest barriers to entry in our industry and Panasonic is committed to helping homeowners understand and take advantage of the benefits of solar technology,” said Mukesh Sethi, General Manager, Solar, and Energy Storage Division, Panasonic Eco Solutions North America. “With Sunnova’s energy services expertise and portfolio of solutions, Panasonic customers will now gain added value to their solar energy investment.”

The move builds on Panasonic’s November announcement expanding its own Residential Solar Installer program by adding six new Premium installers across three US regions.
