Bound: Hartford ↔ Boston In A Tesla

Need to travel between Hartford, Connecticut, and Boston, Massachusetts? Well, the only natural way to do so is in a Tesla.

More eager to work, watch a movie, or sleep than drive on that trip? Well, then jump into a Tesla city-to-city ridesharing vehicle.

As you may have guessed by now, this is the starting route of new Tesla ridesharing firm Bound.

As the EV startup noted in a press release last week, it is “providing a premium and personal experience for those that wish to travel in comfort and style.” That’s a Tesla for you, but it’s also the personalized service from various convenient locations to popular drop-off points in the destination city.

Naturally, Bound is selling the various benefits of Tesla transport — environmental, comfort, prestige, and affordability. “Bound wants to transform the way people think about Northeast transportation by pioneering a safe, indulgent, yet affordable ride that is also beneficial for the environment,” the company added. Pricing starts from just $39 a seat, or up to $59 a seat on the weekend.

To boost the rider experience, Bound offers in-vehicle WiFi, noise-canceling headphones, device charging, snacks and beverages, and foot massages neck pillows. I do think the company should offer foot massages, but maybe that’s just because I feel like I could use one right now.

Bound offers three departure times each day from each of the cities. The travel time averages approximately 2 hours, but could be longer depending on the precise pickup and drop-off locations (not to mention weather and traffic). Here are the options for pickup and drop-off location:

For anyone who has spent much time driving in the US Northeast, the company’s tagline may be the best selling point of all: Arrive Energized.
