The solar technology solutioneers at Panasonic have partnered with the smart energy solution providers at SolarEdge Technologies on a new premium smart module that folds SolarEdge’s panel optimization tech in with Panasonic’s solar panel technology.

The integration of a SolarEdge optimizer and Panasonic’s panels in the new HIT S Series Modules increases the overall system efficiency while cutting down on installation times by eliminating the need to build solar optimizers onto panels or mounting rails.

“As states across the U.S. follow in California’s footsteps to incentivize and require solar module installations, energy storage and energy-efficient upgrades, industry leaders like Panasonic and SolarEdge must continue pushing boundaries in solar technology innovation,” said Mukesh Sethi, General Manager, Solar and Energy Storage Division, Panasonic Eco Solutions North America.

“Bolstered by a SolarEdge power optimizer, the new HIT® S Series smart module represents the latest advancement for our Photovoltaic HIT® portfolio, offering industry-leading premium power in even the highest temperatures, while yielding homeowners more cost savings and enhanced protection.”

At a practical level, integrating a power optimizer with a solar module is just one less thing to worry about. They were designed from the ground up to be future proof as new technologies are introduced as well as to work with SolarEdge’s currently lineup of inverters.

Peter Mathews, North America General Manager for SolarEdge shared that, “By launching a smart, optimized solar module with Panasonic, we can offer the benefits of a fully-optimized solution, while also accelerating the solar installation experience for consumers nationwide.”

Panasonic’s HIT S Series is a top notch performer, with an impressive guarantee that they will still generate 90.76% of their rated power output after 25 years. The warranty confirms that Panasonic continues to improve the reliability and output of its panels as the global solar photovoltaic industry continues to penetrate new markets.

The new panels will be on display at the 2018 Solar Power International show in Anaheim, California, and CleanTechnica will be there to get the low-down on the latest products available today as well as the direction the industry is headed in the coming years.
