Senvion Signs 275 Megawatt Wind Turbine Agreement In Texas
German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion has capped off a big August of announcements with a wind turbine supply and commissioning agreement worth 275 megawatts (MW) for the TG East Wind Project in Texas.
Earlier this week, Senvion announced the signed agreements for the supply and commissioning of 275 MW worth of wind turbines for the TG East Wind Project located in Knox County, Texas, and set to be developed between owners Taaleri Energia and renewable energy development firm NorthRenew.
Senvion will supply 58 of its 4.2MW140 wind turbines boasting a hub height of 110 meters, and ten of its 3.2M114 turbines with a hub height of 93 meters. The project is expected to be complete and operating in 2020 and Senvion will provide full-service operations and maintenance for 25 years. TG East is expected to generate over 1 million MW-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity per year and will benefit from the federal Production Tax Credit (PTC).

The announcement follows hot on the heels of three separate supply agreements that will see Senvion supply wind turbines in Chile, Spain, and India.
Specifically, Senvion signed a 205 MW supply agreement for the Cabo Leones II, located in the Atacama region and which will be the company’s largest project in Chile. Senvion will supply 89 of its 2.3M130 wind turbines and a long-term full scope service agreement.
Senvion will also supply up to 300 MW worth of projects in Spain with Saudi Arabian contractor Alfanar, including turbines from its 3.XM140 range and its 4.2M140 line. Finally, Senvion also announced that it will supply 250 MW of wind turbines to Continuum Wind for the Bhuj wind project in Gujarat state in northwest India. Senvion will supply 108 of its 2.3M130 wind turbines and provide a 20-year comprehensive operations and maintenance contract.
