Recently, we hosted a webinar with StorEn Technologies about the energy shift of the future, and how vanadium flow batteries are a key part of our storage revolution.

CleanTechnica Director Zachary Shahan talked with StorEn Founder and CEO Carlo Brovero to discuss what storage options are available for residential and commercial applications, and what the best applications are for lithium-ion and vanadium batteries. Carlo made clear that there is not competition between these two types of batteries — rather, these are complementary technologies since they serve different applications.

Attendee questions added great depth to the conversation, too. We learned about the longevity and storage depreciation for all types of batteries, and how cost per cycle needs to be considered when looking at all types of batteries.

Carlo also answered questions about the safety, purity, and availability of vanadium for these new batteries. Some questions were quite technical, but Carlo was able to explain them in a way that made the technological applications clear.

If you attended, we hope you enjoyed the presentation and conversation with Carlo, Zachary, and viewers. If you missed it, you can see all the slides from the presentation here: StorEn Technologies + CleanTechnica Webinar Slides and watch the full webinar below (it’s about one hour long).
