The Tesla Model 3 is the most revolutionary electric vehicle released to date. Having made significant progress ramping up Model 3 production in June, Tesla is on track to see more Model 3 sales closed this month than any other electric car in the world will see, and the company could even overtake Porsche in total vehicle sales this year if it can maintain even a hint of stability in its Model 3 production lines for the balance of the year.

Interest in Tesla’s Model 3 is also coming from some unexpected areas — like the racing track. Sasha Anis and the team at Mountain Pass Performance have developed some exciting performance suspension and brake components that we covered earlier, and a new video does a great job of showing just how much performance each component adds.

The video starts with a run on the track at the Toronto Motorsports Park with just aftermarket brake pads, and then adds new components lap after lap to show exactly how much impact each component has on the feel of the car and the times it registers on each lap. The commentary from these seasoned racing vets really makes the experience special as they blast around the track with Sasha hanging onto his laptop for dear life.

I won’t spoil the surprise to reveal just how much of an improvement the new components made, but have a watch yourself to see the whole progression. The highlight of the video for me (other than the impressive improvement in track time) was when Sasha connected his phone up to the car and cranked revving engine audio from one of his internal combustion racers as they tore around the track in the Mountain Pass Performance Model 3, which he has dubbed “the Future.”

Check out the video below from Speed Academy for a look at some of the fun they had tuning the car for the track and doing what they clearly love to do.
