Welcome to today’s “Cleantech Talk Today” discussion of fresh electric vehicle (EV) news. In this daily podcast and video series, we talk about anything electric that moves, crawls, flies, rides, drives, swims, swings, or skips.

Zach Shahan and I take you on a daily tour of what we consider to be the most fascinating EV and other cleantech news.

You can listen to this episode above or watch and listen below. Or you can head over to Soundcloud or iTunes to listen.

Today we take a closer look at Zero Motorcycles, jump into an interesting Jaguar Electric Boat world speed record, and circle the topic of what it takes to go on a Tesla Model 3 road trip and what we need in the EV charging space overall for the masses to join the fun.

What does it take to go on a road trip with a Tesla Model 3 in New York state. A CleanTechnica writer and his family went on an outing in their new Model 3 and discovered that a bit more charging infrastructure is needed for their particular needs.

But the Model 3 is only super fun until you get into a Jaguar — electric — boat! And that’s a boat that set a new world speed record. Jaguar + electric + boat are words not often found together, so when we noticed it was Jaguar Vector breaking another electric speed boat record, we sat up in our chairs.

Zero Motorcycles kicked off another year with exciting updates and good news. Third-party dealerships or direct sales, which is better? You guessed it, and Zero Motorcycles has chosen the direct route that Tesla trail-blazed. But what about independent dealers who have supported the brand till now? Hmm, we wonder.

Zero Motorcycles 2018 FXS! Need we say more?

And if you want to know how the brand new 2018 FXS feels, how about reading what owner and CleanTechnica writer Susanna Schick has to say about her new purchase — she’s got more on two-wheelers here as well, for a bit more fun.

Last, but certainly not least, is a charging system that is truly well thought out. You gotta check out the EasyCharge.me! Park in a large parking garage? No problem. Don’t want to handle the hassles of cables and charging stations in inconvenient spots? No problem. Simply put, when the cable hangs from the ceiling and near the chargeport, charging is easier. But read on because EasyCharge has a few other cool tricks up its sleeve!
