Electric bus telematics solution provider Viriciti has for years offered bus manufacturers and fleet managers insights into how fleet vehicles are being used, even offering the ability to penetrate the individual driving styles of different drivers.

Viriciti has taken its solution to the next level this year with the introduction of a new battery stress level evaluation report. The report was developed in collaboration with the prestigious Fraunhofer Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems IVI and aims to put a finger on the pulse of battery health and present it in a single dashboard for fleet managers.

Viriciti takes all of the data from the on-board telematics system, which is then analyzed by one of its battery specialists. They crunch through the data, extracting key learnings and opportunities in order to generate a battery health report.

The report presents the critical metrics relevant to battery health and shares the specific reading for each along with recommended mitigation steps that can be taken for each. For example, a high battery temperature triggers an a request to have the battery inspected, improve battery cooling and to contact the manufacturer.

The new report is one of many tools designed by electric vehicle solution providers like Viriciti that tap into the wealth of information made available for the first time with electric vehicles by on-board telematic systems that aim to help fleet managers get control of fleets, lower operating costs and reduce downtime with preventive maintenance alerts.

To learn more about the report and the benefits it can provide to your fleet, head over to the Viriciti website, check out the sample report or send them your info to sign up for a demo of the system. Check out the video below which shares a bit from the Nottingham Community Transport about how Viriciti helped it to convert its fleet to electric on the way to getting its entire transit operations up to the Euro 6 standard by 2020.
