CleanTechnica would like to engage the brain trust of our readership to get your opinion on blockchain and cryptocurrencies. For those of you who have not been following along with our Cleantech Blockchain series, or those of you who have been considering upgrading your Nokia cell phone to a Motorola flip phone, here’s the difference:

  • Cryptocurrency — A non-national, digital currency that can be exchanged either for national currencies or other cryptocurrencies. Examples include Bitcoin and Ethereum.
  • Blockchain — The technological approach that supports cryptocurrencies, but also has other uses. It is a digital ledger that is shared among multiple organizations and entities on the internet, with sophisticated means of validating, encrypting, and linking blocks of transactions.

For more details, check out our Cleantech Blockchain series.
