Don’t worry if you haven’t yet heard of FlixBus, many of us hadn’t either. The group’s site certainly caught our attention, though.

FlixBus Hints At Mobility Interoperability

FlixTrain Green MobilityInteroperability is something we don’t always associate with public transportation and mass transportation in general. In many ways, it is a crucial part of the puzzle of the future — our electric mobility (e-mobility) future and needs. And what we need is a seamless mobility experience from point A to B, regardless of the method.

FlixBus has been working on this in its own way. Albeit, at a smaller level and with only buses throughout Europe. The system has become Europe’s largest intercity bus network, helping 100 million people reach their destinations. The group hails itself as a “young mobility provider” challenging the way Europeans travel since 2013. But what is striking is its unique mix of tech startups, its e-commerce platform, and transportation companies that came together nicely.

In order to continue its success, the group decided to launch FlixTrain as well. The idea was to continue to link the FlixBus service to rail. In order to offer this to its travelers, the group came up with FlixMobility, a user-friendly booking system that helps you manage the extensive daily route network. The group says it can give you the opportunity to experience the world on whatever budget you have.

The group manages how and where green buses and long-distance trains come together with safety and the environment in mind for a sustainable, convenient, and comfortable alternative to private transportation.

How Technology Should Be Used For Our Mobility Needs

Technology was supposed to have freed our time. Remember that? All evidence points to the contrary. FlixMobility, however, exists only because of the level of today’s technology. All in all, their e-ticketing platform, FlixBus-App, GPS Live Tracking, the automated Delay-Management System, and the free WiFi on board makes Flix a great template to adopt globally.

And FlixBus isn’t resting on its laurels anytime soon either. The group is working on better and smarter network planning while keeping dynamic pricing relevant. They plan on achieving this through the use of close partnerships with small and medium-sized businesses that are often family-owned regional bus partners.

A Global Web Of Green Mobility Networks

The group has a solid idea and in many ways looks like the precursor of how things will turn out in the near future.

Ultimately, we will have a global green mobility network that meet our needs. In many ways, FlixBus, FlixTrain, and FlixMobility seem to have started a highly efficient and convenient system that works and is feasible concept that can be copied globally.
