São Paulo (Brazil) Formula E Races Being Moved To Punta del Este (Uruguay)
São Paulo, Brazil, had been slated until somewhat recently to play host to a Season 4 race in the popular Formula E racing series — until, that is, the fact that the city’s authorities were in the process of actually selling the venue where the race would have taken place necessitated the event being postponed.
That postponement, of a planned March 17th race to the 2019 (Season 6) Formula E racing series, may have solved São Paulo’s problem, but it left Season 4 without a venue for one of its races.
That problem has been solved now as well, with the announcement having been made that Punta del Este in Uruguay will take the March 17th racing slot, as reported by Reuters. This follows on Punta del Este serving as the site of rounds in the first two Formula E seasons — so the transition to a new venue should be smooth, one would think.
The 4th Formula E racing series season just began, for those who don’t follow the sport religiously … with an event in Hong Kong last weekend kicking things off. Those who are unfamiliar with the sport but find yourselves intrigued may want to head over to the official Formula E page on YouTube — where highlights of recent races are provided — so as to give you an idea of what’s on offer.
