What’s the hottest brand in the world — or at least the luxury world? Tesla, of course. So, what’s one of the best ways to boost your own brand? Link it with Tesla!

One Polish hotel in Poznan has taken that idea in a new direction. Well, this has probably been done before, but I was surprised to realize when Jacek Fior passed the news on to me that I haven’t seen such an implementation anywhere else before.

The service is an in-house Tesla Model X shuttle/chauffeur service. This is how a Facebook post about the new service introduced the Model X (translation to English by robots and then improved by me):

We just launched a prestigious Tesla Model X Hotel Shuttle option 🚘

This 6 seat, fully electric supercar will be a pleasant alternative for our guests 🔝 🚕

City Park Hotel & residence is one of the first hotels in the world to boast about this type of innovation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our Concierge Department will be happy to book a transfer for you: + 48 606 770 328 🎩 ☎️

Awesome idea. Great choice of vehicle, design, number of seats. Whether it pays itself off or not, it helps the world, so here’s a thanks to whoever made the decision on this one.

As you may have supposed, Jacek sent this over to me in part because we’ve co-founded Tesla shuttle and electric carsharing startups. If in-house electric shuttle/chauffeur services like this became common at luxury hotels, they’d present a potential challenge for our businesses.

However, I think such moves will remain niche. It makes more sense (imho) to partner with a company focused on providing such services than to bring the offer in house. The hotel doesn’t even have to put up any money — just supply an exclusive relationship, dedicated parking space, and marketing opportunities. An open door and a little co-branding can go a long way.

That said, due to the ease and lower cost of outsourcing such services, City Park Hotel & Residence should have no problem standing out with this addition to the customer experience. Also, the owners can presumably drive the supersplendulous Model X around for their own needs as they wish. 🙂

Know of any other hotels or resorts offering such a service? Maybe Mar-a-Lago, with all that extra cash it’s been raking in from doubled membership fees and US taxpayer funding?
