Bultaco Motors is and will continue to be a motorcycle maker. Not dwelling on the past, though, the company is expanding its offerings and in tune with today’s demand for bicycles, especially electric bikes. All three kinds of vehicles enjoy the freedom of the open air, so why not offer the complete range? Take a look at the new Bultaco Brinco R-B for an example of what a motorcycle maker does when it moves into bikes.

Another opportunity for creative bicycle transit is at hand with the Bultaco Brinco R-B. The freshest bicycle of the Brinco line costs €3,302 (taxes not included). It has a maximum power output of 2 kW and a top speed of 60 km/h, so it’s no slacker.

This latest version is equipped with a pedal sensor that will allow anyone to quickly get an electric boost and ride at a faster clip. Travel nearly anywhere, anytime of day or night. Travel on those side streets that even small EVs won’t go down.

Considering the advantages of a reliable bicycle — and one that can go electric — perhaps now is a time to give it a shot.

If you’re in France, you have extra incentive, as James Ayres reported earlier for CleanTechnica: “The government of France is now offering a state subsidy of €200 to buyers of certain electrically powered bicycles, according to recent reports. This state subsidy will be on the table until January 31, 2018, reportedly — though, keep an eye out for a possible extension.”

“The new Brinco R-B also comes with a pedal sensor that will allow anyone to turn to the after market to install a kit converting a Brinco R-B into an electric bicycle compliant with EU regulation EN15194,” Wheels.ca reports.

“The new bike requires no homologation, enabling one to ride it on any type of public road, as it is classified as an assisted-pedalling bicycle.

“Bultaco says it will continue to be a motorcycle maker, but it is also in tune with the growing demand for electric bicycles, furthered by the increasingly stringent permissive legislation governing motorcycles in off-road settings.”

Even time you jump on a bicycle, and yes an electric bicycle as well, it is good for the brain — as well as the heart, lungs, muscles, and more. Perhaps a Brinco R-B?
