e.GO Mobile Opens Design Shop In Aachen
With the launch of its first electric vehicle offering now less than a year or so off, e.GO Mobile has opened a design shop in the city center of Aachen, according to a new press release.
This “stylish pop-up store” was set up in cooperation with the furniture store Mathes and the coffee roastery “Leni liebt Kaffee” — with the intent being to get people talking and thinking about e.GO Mobile’s products, and electric vehicles in general.
Given that the company has already accepted 1,200 preorders for the all-electric e.GO Life car, it presumably isn’t in any real hurry to drum up too much more interest — at least not until the launch has been happened.
Maintaining contact with these reservation holders is something that the company does seem to be keen on though. Which has resulted in a good idea of what customers want — which, as revealed by CEO Günther Schuh at the grand opening event, is the option of better performance models.
Schuh stated: “Some of our customers would like to have more than 20 kW.”
Owing to this fact, the company apparently worked with its partner firm Robert Bosch GmbH to settle on a scalable solution to drivetrains.
The press release provides more: “The e.GO Life will be launched in summer 2018 with three performance levels: 20, 40 and 60 kW. The Robert Bosch GmbH replaces the previous 48 volt drive with a 230 high voltage electric motor. The basic version with 20 kW has a real range of 104 km and costs €15,900 as before. The e.GO Life 40 goes up to 150 km/h and has a real range of 114 km. The e.GO Life 60 accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.2 seconds and achieves a real range of 154 km with a 23.9 kWh battery.”
