Formula E has been going from strength to strength in 2017. In the past few months alone, Audi, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz have all announced that they will be joining the electric racing series in the future. Interest in the sport is at an all-time high, in part inspired by the growing popularity of electric vehicles. Every manufacturer wants to show that they are a part of the EV world, and able to compete in the field.

It’s not hard to see why there is such a buzz around Formula E right now. The series offers all the thrills and spills associated with high performance motor racing, but with the added twist of electric power. If you think that the absence of a petrol engine means less excitement, you probably haven’t bore witness to a race yet.

But we have a confession to make, and it’s one you can probably relate to. While we really enjoy seeing an overtaking maneuver of extreme skill and bravery, or a tight corner taken to perfection, we also like to see the occasional crash. Of course, we don’t want anyone to get hurt – we’re not animals – yet there is something about witnessing the impact between cars, or the impact between a car and wall, that speaks to some primal destructive urge.

Thankfully, the good people at Formula E seem to understand this too, and so they have handily created a compilation video of every major crash that took place in Season 3. Enjoy the carnage.
