GE Renewable Energy Selected For 300 Megawatt Invenergy Wind Farm
GE Renewable Energy has been selected to provide wind turbines to a 300-megawatt wind farm being developed in Texas by Invenergy, North America’s leading independent clean energy provider.
The new commitment was announced on Thursday by GE Renewable Energy, who will provide 120 of its GE2.5-116.90-meter wind turbines for the Santa Rita wind farm being developed in Reagan County, Texas, by Invenergy, North America’s largest independent and privately held clean energy provider. A separate cybersecurity agreement was also signed between the two companies and announced on Thursday.
“Invenergy and GE have a long history of successfully working together to provide several gigawatts of affordable, reliable, sustainable energy,” said Pete McCabe, President and CEO of GE’s Onshore Wind business. “We are pleased to continue this relationship as we develop the Santa Rita Wind Farm and bring more renewable energy to Texas.”

It’s been a busy few months for GE Renewable Energy, with numerous various contracts awarded from all over the world. In May alone GE Renewable Energy has been chosen to provide 200 megawatts (MW) to the Qiansongba and Senjitu III wind projects in the Hebei province in China, and 1.5 gigawatts (GW) worth of wind turbines to a massive wind project in Aragón, Spain.
