Europeans love Nissan electric vehicles. The airy, roomy Nissan LEAF leads electric car sells in Norway

Moving the EV juices around in Europe and tuning a broader audience into the enormous value and irreplaceable quality of driving and riding in electric vehicles is France’s Lionel Suissa and his Electrip team — a group of artists promoting electro-mobility. From late spring into early summer, a Nissan e-NV200 will revel in a 35-day European Electrip across 8 countries. Suissa will be leading the 35 day tour that starts in Barcelona and winds up in Norway. The precise purpose is to showcase the European Electric Corridor.

Nissan reports: “The electric tour will take place from May to June; covering France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, starting in Barcelona.” The trip started on May 3.

In France, the Electrip team will travel the Wattway, a solar-powered road located near Le Mans. There are reportedly no problems with the range of the Nissan e-NV200 — up to 170 km on a single charge. Europe has over 4,000 publicly accessible charging points — enough that drivers are able to travel across the continent.

Lionel Suissa, part of the Electrip team, said: “As a passionate advocate of the role EVs can play in improving air quality, I think it’s crucial that the younger generation see just how easy and enjoyable electric driving can be. Electrip is designed to show off Europe’s charging network and demonstrate to people just how capable an electric vehicle truly is. The Nissan e-NV200 is the ideal vehicle for our European adventure.”

Clean air and environmental insight is why many EV drivers choose emissions-free electric — the 1st concern of the population of early EV adopters we surveyed. Then, once you feel the torque and enjoy the quiet drive of an EV, it is practically impossible to return to an ICE car and not feel you are reversing progress and safety.

Survey results from our new EV report. Responses came from over 2,000 EV drivers across 26 European countries, 49 of 50 US states, and 9 Canadian provinces. Responses were segmented according to region — North America vs Europe — and type of electric car — plug-in hybrid vs Tesla vs non-Tesla fully electric car.

Since 2010, Nissan has sold more than 300,000 EVs globally. The world’s best-selling electric vehicle is the Nissan LEAF. This is an expansive travel year for zero-emissions vehicles. A specially modified Nissan LEAF is going on a unique tour. The LEAF AT-EV will become the first LEAF traveling an immense distance “off the grid.” (All the way to the Mongol Rally.)

Nissan shares, “providing a range of Intelligent Mobility solutions to the mass market, the e-NV200 is part of Nissan’s popular zero-emission range; combining the best elements of two multi-award winning vehicles – the Nissan LEAF and Nissan NV200.”

The electric road trip is part of Nissan’s “Electrify the World.” What is this initiative? Nissan shares: “Through the brand’s network of social media sites and websites, Nissan is using its expertise from almost a decade in electric vehicles to inspire new conversations about sustainability and cleaner living. The platform also gives users a forum to engage in discussion, interact with the brand and offer opinion. It aims to engage audiences across Europe and inspire them to join Nissan’s electric revolution, living smarter and more sustainable lifestyles.”
