Revolution Returns — CleanTechnica Conferences In Berlin, Wroclaw, Warsaw, & Lodz

CleanTechnica and GridHub jointly organized three conferences last year — in Berlin (Germany), Leipzig (Germany), and then Wroclaw (Poland). We had wonderful attendees, fascinating presentations and panel discussions, great partners, and a ton of fun. So, we decided to launch a big series of conferences in the coming year to keep the cleantech inspiration rolling.

We learned several things last year regarding our attendees, how to keep improving our events, and innovative approaches we could adopt. As such, we have several new and unique features for the coming year’s Cleantech Revolution Tour conferences. For example:

1. Conferences will primarily be dual-city conferences, with the first day in one major city; the second day off for your choice of work, sightseeing, networking, and/or travel (to the next city); and the third day in another major city in the region.

This format helps to link regional cities and cleantech leaders in useful ways, helps to introduce people and businesses to more markets, helps to highlight practical electric transport solutions in the region, and is simply fun.

Transport will be provided in part via electric shuttles from sponsors T Shuttle and ELMO, both of which I’m a cofounder of. This is also one way in which we will offer EV ride & drives. Stay tuned for more details.

2. Each conference will have a more specific focus than last year. For example, with the first two conferences, the focus will be as follows:

Berlin + Wroclaw — The Future Is Now: Surf The Cleantech €-Wave

In Berlin and Wroclaw, the conference focus is essentially how to best put your cash money into the future, which includes deep dives into market trends and forecasts, where cleantech-related industries will be in 10 years, and various aspects of cleantech investment and entrepreneurship.

That includes plans to have: a dozen or so cleantech startups pitch their stories, leading cleantech investors onboard to soak in potential new blood and provide insight that could help more entrepreneurs to succeed, and top market analysts and forecasters in the house dishing out data like popcorn at the movies. Again, the overarching goal is to help you put your money into good ideas and societally helpful work — whether you’re an entrepreneur, VC, or engaged citizen.

Warsaw + Lodz —  West Meets East: Charging Central & Eastern Europe’s Electromobility Revolution

Partnering with regional fast charging leader Greenway Infrastructure for this one, this conference is the first ever conference by and for practitioners who are taking a deep look at the growing electric mobility ecosystem in Central Eastern Europe (CEE). Thus far, much of the conversation about electromobility, and the developments in the industry, have taken place in Western and Central Europe. Now, we sincerely think it’s time to highlight the emergence of developments in CEE — something we got much more inspired to focus on during our 2016 Wroclaw conference and due to several announcements since then. The revolution is rising, and it will be rising much quicker soon, which will mean massive growth in regions like CEE. Who will lead and benefit from that growth?

This conference will feature companies, associations, policymakers, and regulators from CEE, as well as OEMs, infrastructure operators, and officials from the EU — all coming together to share their insights, experiences, and technology & investment plans for the region.

3. Networking, networking, networking. Dialogue, dialogue, dialogue.

Whether during sessions, over lunch, or in the corridors, we noticed at every conference last year that some of the most valuable things we stimulated were introductions between people who should know each other, conversations about future business partnerships, and eye-opening discussions about a wide variety of cleantech business and policy topics. When I started doing these conferences, one of the main organizers of the Renewable Cities Global Learning Forum (which is a top-notch event that I still put at the top of the list for cleantech-related conferences) send this message: “Dialogue, dialogue, dialogue.” Indeed….

So, for the coming round of conferences, we have several niche and unique features that are focused on maximizing useful networking and dialogue. This includes activities before the conferences, during the conferences, and after the conferences that I think aren’t matched at any other cleantech conferences on the planet.

That’s the introduction. Check out the Cleantech Revolution Tour website for some more details about the planned conferences, or just head straight to eventbrite to book tickets.

Aside from Greenway InfrastructureT Shuttle, and ELMO, other initial sponsors include janom, EV Volumes, The Beam, and EV Obsession.

And if you’re interested in being a speaker, sponsor, or supporter of another kind, let us know.
