Cities Are Changing, From A To B With Eli ZERO
Eli ZERO is a coming electric solution for getting around the city. Advertised as “the new A to B,” the electric vehicle (EV) is a stylistic offering similar to the Renault Twizy, very similar. However, it also has some clear improvements over the Twizy. The creators see the Eli ZERO as a solution to agile movement around town (and parking in small spaces). The question is, “Is there room for it on the market?”
The Eli ZERO is expected to arrive near the end of 2017, with a price of around $10,000. Top speed is 25 mph. The electric range estimate is between 40 and 75 miles — given the 4 kWh battery capacity and a passenger or two, traveling 40 miles is probably the limit. The Eli features include a full A/C and heating system, Bluetooth, USB, and a decent audio system.
An Eli press release states, “We believe Eli introduces an advanced, yet simple product that will fundamentally shift how we engage with urban fabrics. Smaller, simpler and friendlier, Eli ZERO is the ultimate two seater mobility device for agile daily movement.”
The car premiered at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year. Hybrid Cars did point to some major points of difference between the ZERO and the Twizy: Eli ZERO has a fully enclosed cabin with fixed doors and windows (the Twizy doesn’t). Eli Zero also has a bench seat (the Twizy doesn’t — the Twizy’s second seat is behind the front one). Here are some pics of the Eli ZERO:
