Tesla has abstained from conventional advertising, with the draw of its products alone being sufficient to keep demand higher than supply since its inception. Having said that, Tesla continues to think outside the box for new ways to engage owners in the fight for clean air and a livable climate, and the latest chapter of that campaign has just been inked.

In an email to owners, Tesla has kicked off what it’s calling “The Electric Road Trip,” with a smattering of destinations lined up at a handful of — wait for it — destination charger locations around the world. These locations are mapped out on a new page over at Tesla.com (here) and showcases events by region.

These events highlight both the variety and wide distribution of destination chargers around the world as well as the sheer number of miles Tesla owners have put on their vehicles around the world, which now totals over 2.5 billion.

The new road trip promises to keep Tesla fanboy energy at an all-time high while also reaching out to friends and other enthusiasts who might be just Tesla curious, unwilling to commit to date but leaning towards jumping in.

Along these lines, I can say that the Model 3 reservation energy continues to build, as my brother-in-law and parents-in-law have recently joined the Model 3 reservation holder ranks. They are by no means tech enthusiasts or electric car fanatics, though they may have been influenced by my perspective over the years. 🙂

In the reservation page for The Electric Road Trip, few details are provided — namely that reservations should be put in for those interested in attending and that there will be some snackables in attendance for those who make the trip. For me, I’m planning to attend my local meetup, but looking at it as more of a Tesla Owner’s Group meetup than a road trip. Hey, to each their own.
