Scoot provides residents in dense urban areas of San Francisco with more mobility options. Riders on its electric scooters can move freely and swiftly around the city. Hundreds of smartphone-activated scooters provide thousands of people every month easier routes to their destinations.

1,000,000 zero-emission miles to date have been traveled on Scoot electric scooters — an ecologically and economically friendly way to get around town. Now, Scoot is jumping into a new era, with expansion on the way and more electric scooters to serve that.

Funding for a new fleet of hundreds of Mahindra GenZe 2.0 electric scooters, led by Mahindra Partners & Vision Ridge Capital, has gone through.

While expansion plans were part of the rationale for the funding, it wasn’t stated what the new Scoot markets will be, aside from expanding the San Francisco network.

Promoting livability in cities around the world, Zhooben Bhiwandiwala, Managing Partner, Mahindra Partners, said: “Scoot’s service is both consumer-friendly and ecologically sustainable. The problem they are addressing is global in nature and will grow in importance over the next few decades with the continued concentration of populations within dense urban centers.”

Note that the GenZe 2.0 does not require a motorcycle license to operate.
