When I think of soccer (or football, as it is called in most places), I think of prowess, coordination, and of the fluidity of dance. I think of intense competition. Now, one can also associate EVs & Nissan with soccer. Nissan supplied more than 100 electric vehicles during the exciting UEFA Champions League final in Milan — for fresher air around the games.
From Nissan: “The e-NV200 van and a unique Nissan LEAF carried the UEFA Champions League trophy over the course of the (last) weekend. Nissan is in partnership with A2A to install 17 rapid chargers in Milan, and its surrounding airports for the UEFA Champions League Final Project with A2A forms part of Nissan’s ongoing commitment to unlocking a more sustainable future as part of Intelligent Mobility vision.”
Gareth Dunsmore, Director of Electric Vehicles for Nissan Europe said: “Poor air quality and increasing greenhouse gas emissions are very real challenges facing cities all over the world, including Milan. Zero emission vehicles provide a tangible solution to these challenges, and the fast charge stations built by Nissan in Milan will be decisive regarding the take up of all-electric mobility and will be left behind after the final for the public.”
Continuing from Nissannews.com: “Pursuing a goal of zero emission vehicles and zero fatalities on the road, Nissan’s ‘Intelligent Mobility’ vision is designed to guide Nissan’s product and technology pipeline, anchoring critical company decisions around how cars are powered, how cars are driven, and how cars integrate into society.”
