Porsche Cayenne Plug-In Hybrid Now In Platinum (Tryin’ To Compete With Tesla Model X?)
Porsche has begun offering for order a “Platinum Edition” of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid — one featuring an upgraded interior, improved safety features, and large 20-inch wheels in RS Spyder design housed in wider wheel arches, amongst other things.
The new Platinum Edition of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid — which possesses a combined output of 306 kilowatts (416 horsepower) and features a 10.8 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery-pack — will have a price tag of €90,298 ($102,285) with VAT included.
Green Car Congress provides more about what’s on offer with the new Platinum Edition:
For example, standard equipment in the Cayenne Platinum Edition includes Bi-xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Power Steering Plus and ParkAssist in the front and back come also standard. The latter system not only uses an audible beep to indicate the distance to objects or other cars in front of and behind the vehicle; it also graphically depicts the direct surroundings on the central display. The exterior mirrors and rear-view mirror are equipped with an automatic anti-glare feature as standard, while dark-tinted privacy glass (also standard) provides additional privacy for rear passengers.
A non-metallic black and white finish is standard, with Deep Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrera White or Rhodium Silver metallic paints available as an option. The broadened wheel arches also come in the chosen colour scheme. The models’ exclusive appearance is rounded out by a high-gloss exterior package. As an additional high-end standard feature, the Platinum Edition models come with the latest generation Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system that includes online navigation, the Connect Plus module and a BOSE Surround Sound system. The dashboard is adorned with an analog clock, and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid also comes with a stationary heating/air conditioning system.
While the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition (and the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition as well) can now be ordered, deliveries won’t actually begin until June.

10 kwh battery. That will get you all the way to the end of the driveway.
So not a problem then that there’s no Autopilot.
Well if you hold oil stocks and have oil company as your major shareholders…
Is that how VW / Porsche are setup?
30-45km. Not that bad.
Perhaps in Europe 30 km is not bad. In the U.S. I would expect a minimum of 40 mile range to make sense. Not that any of these old and fabled car makers are making much sense these days. Alzheimers?
