Panasonic Enterprise Solutions & Sensity Systems Announce Alliance
The Panasonic Corporation of North America division Panasonic Enterprise Solutions and Sensity Systems Inc have announced the formation of a new alliance related to Panasonic’s CityNow initiative, according to a recent press release.
The announcement — made at San Diego’s Lightfair International 2016 — made note of the fact that the alliance will make use of Panasonic’s notable experience in “smart” city planning, along with Sensity System’s considerable relevant experience, in order to provide some Denver residents with “smarter, safer, more sustainable services.”
The Denver, Colorado, residents in question will, to begin with, mostly be those living in the PENA Boulevard Station — a transit-oriented development community that will be served by Denver’s newly expanded light-rail service.
Here’s more (from a recent press email): “Joining forces, the companies are leveraging existing lighting infrastructure by embedding sensors, wireless connectivity, and data analytics, into LED luminaires to enable cloud-based applications and services for security, smart parking, retail services, and environmental monitoring, among other initiatives. For cities and other organizations, this means lower energy costs, safer environments, and the enablement of a new generation of smart applications never before possible.”
More details will no doubt be forthcoming over the next few months.
