Everyone will have a different take — rather, taste — about the following list. Certainly, I never seem to have a mainstream perspective on much of anything — except perhaps with avant-garde, holistic types. I started a collection of songs that compare to the drive and experience of the EVs I love. Continue the idea and share your favorite songification of EVs.

The idea dawned on me as I listened to Luciana Souza’s Tide for the 5th hour repeatedly during one of my longer jaunts in the LEAF. I never seem to tire of that CD. I fell into a song mantra of sorts and the drive flew softly by as in a musical trance. In fact, soon after, I played the first song on TideAdeus America & Eu Quero Um Samba, for Lily Shahan and she started dancing. So I am not alone being moved by that song. Possibly, it could represent the LEAF to me musically. Still, there is a better one, as a similarity to the movement of the LEAF.

Soft, adept, transitioning with smooth fluidity, timelessness, here’s my songification of the Nissan LEAF with male & female versions of the classic song:

Enjoy the diversity of more EVs compared to the songs they bring to mind (my mind). List some of your own ideas.

Tesla Model S —  I imagine there is going to be a wide spectrum of response to this one. For my choice, I have always loved this video below. I feel the dancers in this video deserve to be driven and picked up in a Tesla to their little cafe. Their style is so elegant, smooth, and rhythmic.

And when you are using the amazing torque…

I drove the BMW i3 with much younger Shahans who really explored the torque! And unique braking! That makes me think of this song — and, undoubtedly, the tambourine man dancing behind Beck.

The electric Porsche Panamera was an unexpectedly delicious test drive, also commanding great power. The song below seems appropriate. I don’t think the car in this video is an EV — but it should be.  (Please use an EV next time, Sting). As it was, this is pretty much how I felt in the back seat as Zach drove.

Porsche Panamera S E Hybrid

Certainly, the following song applies to all EVs, bicyclists, pedestrians, and transit riders who travel with a lighter footprint on our planet:

You may not see the similarity in my selections, so I urge you to add in the comments musical representations of the EVs you love — yes, please add to this ongoing feast of musical comparisons to EVs!

Thanks to John Henry for letting me take a photo of his well-loved and appreciated BMW i3.
