Suzlon Energy Bags 197 MW Wind Energy Order In India
One of India’s largest integrated wind energy solutions providers, Suzlon Energy, has secured one of the largest orders this financial year, indicating strong prospects for the Indian wind energy market over the next few months.
Suzlon Energy recently announced that it received a repeat order from one of the largest independent power producers in the Indian renewable energy market. Suzlon Energy will supply, install, and commission wind turbines for the developer in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh at a total size of 197.40 MW.
A total of 47 hybrid tower turbines and 47 tubular turbines will be commissioned at the projects, with each wind turbine unit having a rated capacity of 2.1 MW. The project is expected to be commissioned by February 2017, in time for next year’s monsoon season when the wind speeds in the region increase, contributing to higher power generation.
Suzlon Energy recently signed an agreement with independent power producer Axis Energy Limited to develop 4 GW of solar and wind energy capacity for Axis Energy in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Suzlon Energy has had an encouraging 2015 as it received a number of orders with capacity of 100 MW or more, which is not bad for company that had been reeling under huge debt some months ago.
