Spanish wind energy giant Gamesa has strengthened its financial position, continuing its strong revenue and sales growth.
According to its latest financial earnings report, accounting for the first 9 months of the year, Gamesa saw revenue boosted by 30.4% against the first 9 months of 2014, reaching €2,533 million. Sales reached 2,301 MW, up 26%, which continues eight straight quarters of double-digit growth for the company’s sales arm. Gamesa’s operation and maintenance services also saw revenues continue to increase, up 7% to €345 million on the same period a year earlier.
These financials are in line with the company’s Business Plan 2015-17, and represent a doubling of net profit between January and September, year-over-year, reaching €126 million.
The increase in activity and sales is representative of the company’s strengthening position in numerous markets around the world; MW sales in India accounted for 28% of the overall, 15% in China, 11% in the US, followed by 25% from Latin America and 21% from Europe & Rest of World.
Gamesa’s order book now stands at 3,034 MW, an increase of 42%.
The company has been continuing to make significant orders around the world, the latest being just last week, after it landed two 100 MW orders from project developer Ostro Energy in India. This was preceded by another Indian 100 MW contract in late October, and a 112 MW order in Chile.
