One of India’s leading wind energy solutions providers, Suzlon Energy, announced that it has bagged yet another order to provide turnkey solutions from Orange Renewable.

Orange Renewable awarded Suzlon Energy a repeat turnkey order for 100.8 MW wind energy project. The project will be commissioned in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, as part of a larger wind park, and is expected to become operational in the next financial year.

In addition to construction and commissioning, Sulzon Energy will also be responsible for operation and maintenance of the project for 12 years. This is a standard practice for Suzlon, as it provides end-to-end solutions to investors and developers looking to set up wind energy projects. Suzlon Energy will erect 48 units of its S111-90 meter wind turbine for the project.

Late last month, Suzlon also announced that it had received an order to commission 105 MW capacity across five states for different companies. As part of the contracts, Suzlon would install 50 wind turbines of its S9X product suite — which includes turbines with hub heights of 90 meters and 120 meters. The orders have been placed by industries looking to replace grid electricity with captive power generation, enabling them to freeze the cost of power for the long-term.

Orders for Suzlon Energy have been coming in thick and fast ever since its financial restructuring and stake sale. The company recently announced that it had surpassed 2 GW installed wind energy capacity in the western state of Maharashtra, and last month it commissioned 100.8 MW capacity for CLP India in Rajasthan at the largest wind park in India.

As part of its medium-term strategy, Suzlon Energy plans to roll out 11 GW of wind energy turbines over the next 5-7 years. The company also aims at securing EPC contracts for 5 GW capacity during the same period.
