If you don’t have the time in the immediate future to travel Europe, contemplate this brief journey through the eyes of a Nissan LEAF. The electric jaunt shares the 5 “most breathtaking electric drives” in Europe. Pass a few moments from Rieti to Rome (serenely riding from the heart of Italy to the Eternal City). Then on to tree-lined avenues, Versailles to Paris, the capital of France with the romantic Eiffel Tower and the city’s ever iconic ambience.

Gaze as if driving the bridge, on the journey from Malmö to Copenhagen. From Dundry to Bristol one enjoys another bridge, the suspension bridge. Be sure to take note of the energy tree in Millennium Square in Bristol, the 2015 European Green Capital. It is a functional art piece engaging people with the concept of solar energy. And on to behold the coastal Catalonian drive from Sitges to Barcelona.

If you prefer traveling at night through Europe, don’t miss taking in this one below as well: enjoy illumination surrounding driver and passengers in Nissan’s glow-in-the-dark zero-emission LEAF on the glowing Smart Highway in Oss, Holland. The 100% electric Nissan LEAF is the first glow-in-the-dark car to drive with its magical cloak over the luminous motorway.

If one wants to observe this emissions-free travel, conveniently electric, from a domestic view — a sweet family electric experience, there is one more below. Taking Nissan’s iconic electric automobile on a holiday — gas-free and pollution free — you can visit the Isle of Wight with a young family. They do not spend a penny on fuel, of course. I love the father’s narrative, practical and pleasant. Stuck in traffic for a bit, he ponders from his quiet electric experience, “Why is everyone driving around in these expensive petrol-powered cars? Craaazy. You could not get a more relaxed chilled out drive.”

Going on: “430-mile round trip in my Gen-1 Nissan Leaf, a nice example of how you can pack in all your gear, two kids, and the missus and head off for a week’s holiday here in the UK thanks to the electric highway provided by Nissan and Ecotricity.” Yes, it’s a sales pitch, but nonetheless.

Remember, if traveling in the mountains, the downhill ride of a Nissan LEAF and all of its switchbacks replenish much of the LEAF’s battery capacity.
