Tesla Gigafactory Pictures With Tesla Board (Elon Musk, JB Straubel, Steve Jurvetson, Kimbal Musk…)

March 7th, 2015 by

The Tesla Motors board recently took a tour of the Tesla Gigafactory. Steve Jurvetson and Kimbal Musk have both shared some photos from the tour. Aside from Steve & Kimbal, there are some good shots of Elon Musk, JB Straubel, and (of course) the developing Gigafactory.

I shared Steve’s and Kimbal’s pictures over on EV Obsession last night and earlier this morning, but in case you haven’t seen, they are below as well, with a few interesting tidbits included (well, interesting in my opinion). You can find more care-free (fun?) commentary over in my EV Obsession pieces.

The first set of images come from Steve Jurvetson (CC BY 2.0 license). The second set are clearly from Kimbal Musk, as they are screenshots from his Instagram account. Thanks to Steve & Kimbal, and also thanks to “dbfish” for sharing on the Tesla Motors Club forum. Click any of these images to enlarge them.

Elon Musk reportedly says that current build of the Gigafactory is about 20% of its full size… holy cow, that thing is going to be big! We knew it was going to be big, but now it looks even more impressive.

Phase 1 of the Gigafactory is 1.7 million square feet.
