Xtreme Green EVs For Police, Security, Military, Farming, & Mining Industries

In the renewables world, passenger car electric vehicles get a lot of attention. However, there is also an emerging market for work space electric vehicles that has to date received little attention. This article, exclusive to CleanTechnica, seeks to bridge this gap.
At NCES 7.0 last year, a vendor, Xtreme Green, was there displaying its work electric vehicle (EV) products. Its EV product line is less expensive to own and operate for its customers compared to their current fossil fuel assets, and the carbon footprint is much smaller.
The company, Xtreme Green Electric Vehicles, Inc., is located here in Las Vegas, Nevada. It uses lithium-ion, iron-phoshate battery packs in its EVs, and the EVs get 60 to 80 miles (97 to 129 km) on a charge (varies by vehicle).
The electric vehicles are priced in the same rough price point range as fossil fuel vehicles, but the fuel and maintenance costs are less expensive for Xtreme Green EVs. The overall lifecycle of ownership including operational costs and simplicity of maintenance are much more favorable for these EVs.

One of its EVs, a three-wheeled EV called the Sentinel, which is used by police departments and security services, has in one case been driven 26,000 miles in 2¼ years at a large Motel 6 property in Las Vegas. The Sentinel is a trike EV model on which one stands when driving. After taking it for a fun test drive in the factory warehouse, it’s clear that it’s very easy to operate.

Byron Georgiou, CEO and Chairperson of the Board, explains how EVs are normally in use as automobiles, which have very good pollution controls with catalytic converters, but in the work vehicle space, the exhaust can be much more polluting. Xtreme Green was designed to greatly reduce carbon emissions in this overlooked work vehicle arena. In Byron’s words from the video interview (at 0:49):
We think it’s an important area for the development of electric vehicles for a variety of reasons. One of which is that it’s demonstrably more impactful on the environment, even than passenger vehicle replacement by electric [vehicles]. When you replace a vehicle that already has a catalytic converter in a passenger vehicle, that already has many of the emissions reduced with a zero-emission vehicle, that’s good because you are removing the last few emissions, but when you replace a vehicle that has essentially no emission controls and is diesel powered with an all electric zero-emission vehicle, you definitely have a significant impact in reducing the amount of emissions that go into the environment.
One of its products is called the Transport Pro. This EV is used for farming, mining, warehousing, landscaping, and EMS work. It is a UTV (utility terrain vehicle) and it can come with an open or enclosed cab.
Xtreme Green EVs, Inc. has recently gone through a reshoring process, which is when offshore manufacturing (or other business segments) are brought back onshore to domestic facilities. In this case, the manufacturing is now done in its 50,000 square-foot facility.
By the way, Xtreme Green Electric Vehicles is looking for investments in a final tranche of $5,000,000 at $1 per share. The company reports its financials publicly on Edgar at SEC.gov. It is looking to trade its stock publicly in the near future.
