The PV Module Customer Insight Survey 2014 — as it was dubbed — queried more than 200 individuals from across the US, the UK, Germany, and a number of other countries, on a number of different factors pertaining to their purchase decisions.

The survey included everything that relates to the final solar power purchase choice, from module reliability, to quality, to pricing — respectively the first-, second-, and third-most important factors according to those surveyed.

Based on these factors, out of all of the 75 brands included in the study, the top-ranking brand was Yingli Solar.

“We are delighted to be ranked as the strongest solar PV module brand in 2013. The results arise from our continuous focus on technological leadership and ongoing efforts to reduce the overall cost of solar PV. As a global PV industry leader, we will continue to serve more customers around the world with superb product quality and convenient after-sales services by committing to our long-term mission to make solar PV accessible and affordable for every household,” stated Mr. Liansheng Miao, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yingli Green Energy.

In related news, it was recently determined that Yingli Solar is the third-biggest Chinese brand currently operating in Germany, via a recent study undertaken by Huawei. As per the findings of Huawei’s study, Yingli Solar came in with a 17% slice of the total pie, behind Lenovo at 30%, and Huawei at 21%.

Yingli was also the solar module manufacturer pumping out and delivering the most solar modules globally in 2012 and 2013.

*Full Disclosure: I own stock in Yingli Green Energy.
