Tesla Motors and Sixt Leasing recently expanded their strategic partnership to include Switzerland — now both German and Swiss customers have access to the excellent leasing service.

Those interested — and living in Switzerland — can now obtain a lease offer from Sixt Leasing that works out to about CHF 810–950 (US $919–$1,078) a month with 10% down (36-month lease). The less includes annual service and performance checkups by Tesla.

While the pricing might seem a bit high, it’s always worth remembering that when you use an electric car many of your other costs — such as gas, tax liability, etc — fall. Tesla estimates that Model S customers will save, roughly, up to somewhere around CHF 300 ($340) a month in fuel and tax savings, as compared to high-end gas-powered vehicles. With all of that added in, Tesla estimates an effective net cost of leasing a Model S to be around CHF 660 ($749) a month.

The press release from Tesla provides details on that:

Electric vehicles are exempt from annual road tax (CHF 40, US$45 per month) in certain cantons including Zurich, Geneva and Ticino. Tesla expects the bulk of the monthly savings (CHF 100 – 260, US$113 – $295) to come from driving with electricity instead of gasoline—including access to—Tesla’s free Supercharging Network—at 10,000 – 25,000 kilometers (6,200 – 15,500 miles) per year.

“We’re pleased to offer attractive financing deals to our Swiss customers,” stated Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla. “After a successful launch in Germany, we’re looking forward to extending our partnership with Sixt Leasing to Switzerland.”

Are any of our readers in Switzerland going to take advantage of this offer?
