Bosch, like ABB, has quit the panel side of the business to concentrate on the electronics. European and American firms are much likelier to hold on to this. A reputation for quality and safety, and familiarity with the technical regulations, count for a great deal. Chinese firms are fighting for a slice of the inverter market, but have not taken it over as with modules.

Interesting transition: “is solar hot water Dead?” This is the new suspicion. Meaning old direct hot water through the sun is more expensive and prone to leaks and maintenance head aches than p.v. panels driving a heat pump water heater. For Chinese manufacturing that could be bad news. On the other hand there should be fire sale prices on flat plate solar hot water panels and evacuated tubes as well

Notice, as well, the transition from solar hot water panels and tubes to hot water from p.v. through heat pump. Much more reliable, cheaper with the new low price of p.v. What will become of hot water panel manufacturing?

At last. A coherent user friendly system which parallels the present state of the art off grid systems. Its nice that engineers will take over from us amateurs and give us a break and let us go back to poetry and painting and gardening. Ah!
