Atlanta, GA – Cheyenne, WY (April 17th, 2014) – CleanTechnica and TalkSolar launched the second season of TalkSolar today with the announcement of a new partnership. TalkSolar started broadcasting in April 2013, interviewing industry leaders such as Rhone Resch, CEO of Solar Energy Industries Association; Minh Le, Director of the Solar Energy Technologies Office, Department of Energy; and corporate Sustainability Directors from General Motors and Honda. Other guests included solar installers, manufacturers, and marketing leaders within the solar industry. With the rapid deployment of solar PV charging of electric vehicles, TalkSolar also discussed the synergy between those two emerging technologies.

The second season of TalkSolar will continue the discussion of solar as it grows from a nascent industry to a more robust part of the national renewable energy revolution. Clean energy is a critical part of evolving, modern conversations around electric generation, and solar is a key component of those dialogues. TalkSolar will explore policy, distributed generation, battery storage, utility scale production, and business and residential solar installation in the coming season.

The kick-off episode will be a reversing of the tables, as Zachary Shahan, Director of CleanTechnica, will be interviewing TalkSolar host, Beth Bond, who is a self-proclaimed solar geek and knowledgeable about solar policy in Georgia specifically and in the Southeast generally.

“The partnership between CleanTechnica and TalkSolar seemed like a natural pairing. We have been looking to host a radio show but no other option had really clicked yet,” said Zach Shahan of CleanTechnica. “I was interviewed on TalkSolar last year and found it to be an excellent and interesting experience. When TalkSolar approached us to host the show on CleanTechnica, we saw this as a perfect opportunity to finally get a quality interview program on CleanTechnica.”

Beth Bond added, “TalkSolar was interviewing solar professionals from across the country which was very exciting. TalkSolar was getting a great audience for its first year.” However, to really leverage the potential of the show, Bond knew TalkSolar needed a larger platform then BlogTalkRadio could reach. “The goal of TalkSolar is to create a robust communication platform for the solar industry to explore solutions and vet challenges faced by business professionals working in solar. The only way to achieve that was to find a host website that was already communicating to the solar community. CleanTechnica was the right place. Its cutting-edge approach to covering solar and other cleantech sectors matched the new paradigm of media coverage that TalkSolar embraces,” said Bond.

Episodes will broadcast on Thursdays at Noon EST (9 am PST) on BlogTalkRadio on the TalkSolar channel and appear on CleanTechnica on Fridays. Leaders interested in being interviewed on the show may contact Beth Bond.
