My first comment is to the courageous people of Scotland, Congratulations! It is my belief that the people of Scotland should be able to build a wind farm in Scottish waters, if they choose to. You have won a major victory. Donald Trump does not speak for all Americans; there are those of us who supported you in this legal battle.

Donald Trump has lost his legal challenge to the construction of a major experimental offshore wind farm that will be visible from his luxury Scottish golf resort in Aberdeenshire.

The Scottish Government has stated: “Climate change is one of the most serious threats facing the world.” I have published many stories about the inspiring work that the people of this island nation are doing to protect our planet. My wish is that all governments and peoples have the foresight and courage to address this issue as brilliantly as Scotland continues to do.

Michael Forbes is a small-town farmer who gained global notoriety after he refused to sell his 23-acre property to Trump’s massive Aberdeen golf resort. He was awarded the  Spirit of Scotland Awards in Edinburgh where the  “Top Scot” prize, given annually to that Scot who “has made the greatest impact in furthering Scotland’s reputation at home and abroad.”

Today’s decision has not altered our unwavering commitment to protect our investment in Scotland.

We are reviewing Lord Doherty’s decision and will pursue the legal options available to us as recommended by our counsel. Communities worldwide continue to challenge the destructive proliferation of wind turbines and we will remain a fierce opponent at the forefront of this battle.

Despite today’s decision, the EOWDC proposal has numerous economic and legal obstacles that will ultimately prevent its construction.
