BYD Qin Plug-in Sees Strong Launch In China

You may have noticed a few days ago in my post on China’s 2013 plug-in car sales that the BYD Qin plug-in hybrid electric car was almost on the bottom of the sales rankings. However, that was a bit deceiving since the BYD Qin PHEV was actually just released. As noted in this Planetsave repost, 100 units of the BYD Qin PHEV were sold within seconds! And a lot more people were trying to purchase the vehicle at that time. In other words: I think it’s safe to say that the Qin PHEV is going to perform very well this year, and will likely rank at or near the top of plug-in car sales.     I will order three of these QINs when they become available in America, you can not beat them. Dollar for dollar, it is the best value for what it have. 300,000 miles nearly maintenance free ,330 hp, 0-62 in 5.9secs, nearly 200 mpg, wow what a car.

    For electric scooters in China, BYD has 10 minute full recharge, with special batteries and charge stations. Will any of that be available with this car? The scooters get 150,000 miles or so battery lifetime under regular fast charging, says the BYD website.
