Electric Cargo Delivery Trike (VIDEO)

One of the cool electric vehicles I got to check out recently at EVS27 in Barcelona was an electric cargo trike. It looks like an excellent option for inner-city deliveries, or “last-mile” deliveries as they are sometimes called. I very briefly interviewed the CEO of the company that created these electric trikes, Ivan Loncarevic of Industrial Electric Vehicle, and he indicated that these electric cargo trikes are being used by the postal service in Denmark. Check out the video for more:

It’s hard to imagine these being used by the postal service in the US, but I think they could and should be used for such a purpose in some cities! Furthermore, there are many other companies that have delivery services that could use these vehicles, and they could also be used by individuals for normal consumer purposes.
