Tesla Motors opened its first Supercharger station (Lully) in Switzerland yesterday.

The station is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and no form of charge pass is required. Two charging stalls are located at the station, with each able to provide up to 120 kW of DC power at a time and charge Tesla Model S vehicles in as little as 20 minutes. This charging station is 31 miles northeast of Geneva (50 km) on the A1 motorway.

Tesla Motors has a clear goal of rolling out Supercharger stations within the driving range of all Tesla Model S owners. The first Tesla Superchargers in Europe were installed in Norway, a country in which electric vehicles sell like hotcakes.

Tesla tries to locate its Supercharger near restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, or other amenities, while also putting them in key locations between major cities.
