Elon Musk Named #1 Most influential Man By AskMen
Elon Musk is no stranger to the CleanTechnica audience. Our Elon Musk tag includes 76 articles. The man made billions as a co-founder of PayPal, then went on to invest that in startups Tesla Motors and SpaceX. In this cleantech space that we cover, he has completely flipped perceptions of electric cars through the creation of the Tesla Roadster and the Tesla Model S.
The Model S has been named the best car available to the mass market by most of the top auto journalism world. It got Consumer Reports‘ best rating ever (99/100) and recently topped Consumer Reports‘ customer satisfaction ratings. It also got the highest safety rating ever from the NHTSA. The list goes on and on.
Beyond those three startups, Elon is also the Chairman of SolarCity, the #1 full service solar company in the US.
I have a feeling Elon has trouble getting a full night’s sleep.
Anyway, for these reasons and more, Elon was recently named the #1 most influential man in the world by the UK’s AskMen. Head on over to AskMen to read its short write-up of the innovating cleantech entrepreneur.

the list has him at #9
That’s a confusing page. When I open it states in large letters “Elon Musk #1”. But the list at the top does have him at #9.
Whatever. Taking a quick look at the people ahead of him in the list tells me there’s no meat in the sandwich. That list is mostly about entertainment figures.
This reminds me of a great talk I recently found by Elon Musk https://yougen.tv/video/5344b10f-0933-4154-9ca1-dfba15461532/ His plans for the future are so exciting!
“The man made billions as a co-founder of PayPal”
A tiny bit of hyperbole there. PayPal was sold to eBay for 1.5 billion, but Musk had to share the proceeds with 5 others. So he netted a few hundred million, an order of magnitude less.
