Dale Vince, Ecotricity’s founder, says:
There are millions of British households on the Standard Tariff of the Big Six energy companies, so even before the current price rises, millions of households could switch to Ecotricity and get Green Energy for less than the price they pay for brown energy. But now that the Big Six are raising prices again, what was originally a modest saving, is becoming more significant.
Dale continued to emphasize that renewable energy is not vulnerable to inflation in the same way as the Big Six. It’s also a decentralized and local energy source that boosts rather than hurts the national economy. This all helps Ecotricity to continue beating the energy prices of the Big Six indefinitely.
“In addition, if and when we do raise prices next year, we promise that it will be by less than the Big Six are raising prices now,” Dale notes. Later in the article, Dale continues, “the more of our own energy we produce through our own renewable sources, the greater we’ll be able to shield our customers from price hikes that come with an over-reliance on fossil-fuels. It’s all part of our vision for a Green Britain.”
There is integrity in using renewable, clean, infinite resources that take nothing from children, mothers, or communities — but indeed give back. It is a very different realm than a realm that deplete resources, operating from monopoly. In energy as in all things, one realizes these are different realms — one is holistic, one is predatory.
“On average, Ecotricity spends more per customer on building new sources of green energy than all other energy providers in Britain put together – on average, over the last nine years, this has equated to almost £300 per customer.”
Check out Ecotricity’s site for more information. As of now, Ecotricity provides power for over 77,000 homes and businesses. Earlier this year, it obtained permission for what is set to be the fourth-largest wind farm in England, a wind farm at Heckington Fen in Lincolnshire.
