Los Angeles-based green-central MPG Car Rental have announced that they will be stocking the Tesla Model S as an available rental car this summer.

MPG Car Rental is located in Venice, West Los Angeles, and stocks only green vehicles, including hybrids, plug-ins, and clean diesel models like the VW Beetle TDi. They made noise with the Prius, then with the Chevy Volt, but nothing compares to the excitement surrounding the availability of the Tesla Model S.

Even better news, for prospective buyers, is that if you try out the car for up to four days and then go on to purchase the vehicle from an affiliated dealer, you’ll get a little compensation along the way.

Our sister site Gas2.org has covered the Tesla Model S extensively, including the latest news;

In just 90 seconds, the Tesla Model S swapped its depleted battery for a fully-charged one, and Musk says these stations will be deployed alongside Supercharger stations by the end of 2013.

The 90-second battery swap is just one of many reasons car enthusiasts and experts the world over are falling in love with the Tesla Model S.
