IRENA Launches Renewable Costing Alliance
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) has launched the IRENA Renewable Costing Alliance in oder to better identify the costs of different renewable energy projects around the world, so as to better promote the most cost-effective renewable energy technologies for particular regions.
“The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), by way of the IRENA Business Forum, is reaching out to those around the world with projects on the ground, in order to acquire and exchange the latest data on the costs and performance of renewable energy technologies in a wide range of conditions,” the organization writes on the IRENA Renewable Costing Alliance webpage. The organization just recently wrapped up a webinar series on the new alliance, in which is was “engaging the private sector and providing a forum where companies can learn about IRENA’s work on costing and how to better contribute to this activity.”
