Tesla Model S: 99/100 On Consumer Reports Test, Best Score Ever

Many an automotive publication has heaped praise upon the Tesla Model S electric sedan, but one well-respected outlet has been mum, until now. Consumer Reports recently rated the Tesla Model S, giving it a score of 99/100, making it the highest-scored cars in the publication’s history. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, haters.

The only knock on the Tesla Model S, in Consumer Reports eyes, is that on long drives, the Tesla has to stop and recharge for an extended amount of time. Other than that, this is pretty much the perfect car, electric or otherwise, in its price bracket. If it could recharge in 3 minutes, like a regular gas car, at any gas station, it would have scored a “110” according to Jake Fisher, head of auto testing.

The last car to get a 99/100 was the Lexus LS460 back in 2009, but other than that the Tesla Model S is without peer in Consumer Report’s eyes. And just think about all the other incredible cars that have come out in those four years. Compare the Tesla review to Consumer Report’s review of cars like the Fisker Karma or the Ford Fusion Hybrid, both of which fell short of expectations. In other words, this isn’t just a puff piece by green car enthusiasts.

Just another feather in the cap of Elon Musk and company.
