This is the second announcement by BYD regarding the lucrative Latin American market. Earlier this summer, the car manufacturer also announced it was supplying more than 500 electric buses to Uruguay.

BYD is also hitting the European market, thanks to reaching a deal this past October with Greentomatocars in providing 50 e6 cars to a London Taxi Fleet that will hit the road by the middle of 2013.
