Forget Wall Chargers for Your Gizmos — Pedal Power for Phones, GPS, Lights

Worrying about your smartphone charger or GPS wall adapter isn’t necessary if you are cruising around on a bike with EcoXPower. Attach the EcoXPower to the front wheel and harness power for your devices as you pedal.

The EcoXPower is quite the little multi-tasker. It has a USB cable that runs up to the handlebar mount so you can charge all varieties of smartphones, including Andriods, iPhones, Windows phones, and GPS, with a case that lets you paw at your touchscreen all you want.

The EcoXPower also lights two LEDs so that fellow drivers can see you coming from blocks away. The lights can be switched on and off from the handlebar mount. And don’t worry about the rain — the whole kit is waterproof.

This little gadget weighs in at 1.3 pounds and has a lithium-ion battery that has a capacity of 700mAh, with a lifespan of about 500 charges. It retails for $99.99.

In theory, your most exclusive and best content goes behind a paywall. But then fewer people read it! We just don't like paywalls, and so we've decided to ditch ours. Unfortunately, the media business is still a tough, cut-throat business with tiny margins. It's a never-ending Olympic challenge to stay above water or even perhaps — gasp — grow. So ...
